Free bike rodeo

St. Paul Lutheran Church and Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership are having a free bike rodeo 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 19 at the church, 2860 E. Market St. Register by May 8 by calling 330-394-5741 for a form. Kids age 4 to 9 will learn bicycle safety and road rules. There will be food and prizes.

The Northeast Ohio Multi-Cultural Arts Committee will have a community strategic-planning workshop from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Saturday at New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, 1590 Tod Ave. SW.

Medicine disposal

The ASAP Coalition will have “Operation: Empty Medicine Cabinet” 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 9 at the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District, 5138 Enterprise Drive, off Parkman Road, near the Route 5 Bypass.

Officers from the Trumbull Ashtabula Law Enforcement Task Force will collect and destroy prescription drugs. The officers will accept unused or expired drugs in original containers.

This is the fifth drug-recovery event by the ASAP Coalition. It helps limit the misuse of drugs by children and teens who often get drugs from their family’s medicine cabinets.

Gardening classes

WARREN

Friends of the Greenhouse Consortium and the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership will have free gardening classes from 10 a.m. to noon May 5, 19, and 26 and June 2 and 16 at the Packard Park Greenhouse.

The classes will teach basic skills. All ages are welcome. The May classes will cover soil, seeds and site; plant choices; and fertilizers. The June classes will cover plant pathology and insects; and vegetables and herbs. For more information call 330-372-3889.
