‘Ford Avenue Legends’ tells Youngstown tales

A Youngstown native who is serving in the Navy has written a book about the Youngstown area.

“Ford Avenue Legends” relives the years from 1959 to 1976 from the viewpoint of the city’s Banna family. The Banna brothers’ battles on the streets, in the classroom, and on the gridiron at Youngs-town State University are recounted in what author T.D. Banna calls an action-packed, adventurous story.

The book will be on sale at the following local restaurants and businesses: Inner Circle Pizza in Canfield and Youngstown; Lucianno’s Restaurant and The Ice House Inn, both in Austintown; Golf Headquarters, Bradley’s Books (Southern Park Mall), Parkside Styling, Phoenician Grille, Mocha House, Happy Hour, Vintage Estates Wine Bar and Panache, all in Boardman; Silva’s Lebanese Deli and Zenobia, both in Canfield; Dona Vita’s in Struthers; and The Draught House, The Lemon Grove, The Gold Exchange, Cassese MVR, Golden Dawn and Joe Restaurant, all in Youngstown.

It can be ordered online at www.tonybanna.webs.com, and the ebook version is available at amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com and lulu.com.

Banna plans to donate half of the profits from book sales to his friend Lt. Brad Snyder, an explosive-ordnance officer who was blinded while serving in Afghanistan.
