Suspect arrested in Friday slaying of Michael Abighanem

YOUNGSTOWN

Police have arrested a suspect in the Friday slaying of a man on Youngstown’s West Side. The 17-year-old male is at the Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center, said police Chief Rod Foley.

Michael Abighanem, 27, of Thalia Street was shot after he and a friend went to a house on Silliman Street around 4:30 p.m. so Abighanem could sell a video game system and a laptop computer.

The suspect is charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated murder. Police expect to release his name Monday, Foley said.
