Jewish Community Center Programs for adults offered

The Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, is offering the following programs for adults:
MAH JONGG
Date: Tuesday and May 8, 15 and 29.
Time: 1 to 3 p.m.
Location: Adult lounge.
Cost: $50 member, $60 nonmember.
The game has been seeing a resurgence in popularity the past few years. Evelyn Solomon, an avid player and an instructor, will teach this class. Each participant must have a Mah Jongg 2012 card. Large cards may be purchased at the JCC bursar’s office for $8.
Bridge Fridays
Begins: May 12.
Date: Fridays.
Time: 1 to 4 p.m.
Cost: $5 per week.
Enjoy a great card game amid friendly competition. Light snacks will be provided.
Your Personal Computer 101
Date: Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 19, 21, 26 and 28.
Time: 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Location: Jere and Deborah Schwartz Lustig Computer Education Center.
Cost: $40 member, $50 nonmember.
Learn the basics of your PC, starting from scratch.
Intermediate Computer 102
Date: Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 19, 21, 26 and 28.
Time: 10:30 a.m. to noon.
Location: Jere and Deborah Schwartz Lustig Computer Education Center.
Cost: $40 member, $50 nonmember.
J Caf , Boardman Jazz Band
Date: May 22.
Time: Noon to 1:30 p.m.
Location: Multipurpose Room.
Cost: $7 member, $10 nonmember or $12 after May 18.
The Boardman Jazz Band Ensemble has performed at numerous jazz festivals, community events and concerts, including at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland and South Street Seaport in New York City. The guest chef for this event is Sam Kooperman, executive vice president of the Jewish Federation.
Adult Trips
Chautauqua Institute with Norman Lear
Date: June 25.
Time: Leave the J at 7:30 a.m. and return at 8:30 p.m.
Location: Chautauqua Institute, Chautauqua, N.Y.
Cost: $55 member, $65 nonmember.
A ride to the Chautaqua Institute will be followed by a lecture by television pioneer Norman Lear, creator of “All in the Family,” “Maude,” “Sanford and Son” and several other hit TV shows. The price includes transportation and gate admission to the institute. Lunch and dinner are on your own.
‘Mamma Mia’
Date: July 22.
Time: Leave the J at 2:30 p.m. and return at 10:30 p.m.
Location: State Theater in Cleveland.
Cost: $65 members, $75 nonmembers.
This smash hit musical combines ABBA’s greatest hits, including “Dancing Queen,” “S.O.S.” and “Take a Chance on Me” with a tale of love, laughter and friendship. Price includes transportation and an orchestra seat. Dinner is on your own.
