Crime lab to be renamed for DeMatteo

YOUNGSTOWN

The crime lab at the Youngstown Police Department soon will be renamed in honor of Joseph DeMatteo, who served with the police department 34 years before retiring in 2009.

He was ranked as a detective/sergeant with the department and acted as Commander of the Crime Lab and Bomb Squad divisions.

DeMatteo died in 2011.
