Cornersburg Baptist Church, 3898 Tippecanoe Road, will host the Rev. Lonnie Riley for revival services at 7 p.m. Friday and May 5 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. May 6.

He and his wife, Belinda, work with volunteers at Meridzo Ministries in Lynch, Ky. With John Franklin, the Rev. Mr. Riley co-wrote the book “By Faith: Living in the Certainty of God’s Reality.”

Singer at church

Tajci, an international singer/songwriter, will perform “Let It Be – Mary’s Story” on May 12 at Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Church, 421 Covington St., Holy Apostles Parish.

The topic, “It is Not Good ... To Be Alone,” will address gender, sexuality and communion in the Bible and Christian tradition.

Kirkin’ of the Tartan

All Scots are invited to the Kirkin’ of the Tartan service at 10:30 a.m. May 6 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive.

Bagpiper Thomas J. Herr will lead the procession, followed by banners and tartans representing Scottish clans, as Westminster honors the Scottish heritage of Presbyterians around the world.

Harpist Kirk Kupensky and vocalist Colleen- McNally Harris will bring Celtic music to the service, in solo performances and in leading congregational music. Beadle Jim Herr will give a the call to worship in brogue and the Rev. David Joachim’s message will be “Scots in Mission.” A traditional Scottish tea will follow.

Everyone of Scottish heritage is invited to wear clan tartans or to carry tartans in banner form; assembly will be at 10:15 a.m. Clan names will be called out during the service; call the church office by Friday.

Report from Iraq

The Rev. Elmarie Parker spent 10 days visiting in and around Basrah, Iraq, in November 2011. During that time, she met with Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox church leadership. She will share her observations at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church of Girard, 890 Churchill Road.

She also will discuss how Christians and Muslim communities related to each other.

Honoring Mary

A Night to Honor Mary is planned at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St., Youngstown, and at 7 p.m. May 11 at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, 3430 St. Michael Boulevard N.W., Canton. Bishop George V. Murry will preside at both devotional services. The Diocesan Youth Choir will participate in the St. Columba Cathedral service.

All are invited to the services that will include Scripture readings, a homily, hymns and recitation of the rosary.
