YOUNGSTOWN

Police are investigating two separate armed robberies of customers at the same South Side gas station in a span of less than three hours.

Police were called to the Shell gas station at 3200 Market St. at 3:45 Wednesday in response to an armed robbery.

A city man told police he was coming from inside the gas station when he was surrounded by four men. One of the men put a gun to his side, then to his neck and demanded all his possessions.

One of the men went through his pockets and took his wallet. All four men ran off after taking the wallet with an unspecified amount of cash.

Police were back at the same gas station about 6:20 p.m. for another armed robbery of a customer.

An 18-year-old North Side man told police he walked out of the gas station and was approached at the rear of the gas station by three men who appeared to be in their teens. One of the assailants pulled out a gun and demanded the man empty his pockets.

The man said the three thieves took a cellphone, $200 and a pair of Gucci sunglasses before running off.
