Grand jury indicts 3 Michigan men

CLEVELAND

A federal grand jury has indicted three Michigan men accused of obtaining more than $400,000 worth of goods and services with more than 1,400 fraudulently obtained credit-card numbers, with one transaction alleged to have occurred at a Boardman retail store.

Indicted Wednesday were Quintez Salter of Farmington Hills and Chauncey Peteet of Oak Park, both 24, and Christopher Hollingsworth, 37, of Detroit.

Peteet made purchases at the Boardman Walmart on Jan. 14, 2010, using a credit card bearing his name, but encoded with an illegally obtained credit-card number, and Hollingsworth tried to do the same, the indictment says.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service and is being prosecuted by David M. Toepfer, Youngstown-based assistant U.S. attorney.
