Youngstown cops probing North Side homicide this evening

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown police are on the scene and investigating a homicide on the city’s North Side.

A man in his early 20s was gunned down in what appears to be a drive-by shooting at about 5 p.m. in front of a home in the 100 block of Saranac Avenue. Police are not releasing the name of the victim.

Police say the car involved in the shooting is believed to have driven off down Elm Street.

This will be the ninth murder in the city this year. The last murder took place March 14 when 25-year-old Tito Haskins was found dead on Boston Avenue.
