With 3:42 remaining in the second period, Phantoms goaltender Matt O’Connor stopped the Gamblers’ Sam Herr on a breakaway.

O’Connor used his pads to stop the Gamblers’ 30th shot to preserve Youngstown’s 1-0 lead.

Earlier, O’Connor made a glove save to stop Alex Broadhurst from point-blank range. Broadhurst was the hero of Green Bay’s 6-3 win on Tuesday by scoring three shorthanded goals (a USHL record that might never be broken).

After 40 minutes of play, the Gamblers have a 32-14 edge in shots.
