PHANTOMS LIVE / Gamblers lead 5-1 after two
Seventy seconds before the end of the second period, Green Bay’s Alex Broadhurst’s second shorthanded goal of the game put the Gamblers ahead, 5-1.
The latter half of the period was chippy. First, the Gamblers’ Sheldon Dries grabbed Phantoms forward Pat Conte from behind and earned a double-minor for roughing. Conte was penalized once.
A minute later, the Phantoms’ JT Stenglein and the Gamblers’ Sam Herr tangled in the corner, earning four minutes each in the penalty box.
Less than a minute later, Grant Arnold was whistled for slashing, giving the Phantoms’ their third man-advantage opportunity.
The lone bright spot for the Phantoms is the penalty killing — Green Bay is 0 for 4 on the power play.
Youngstown is 0 for 3 on the power play, surrendering two shorthanded goals.
Green Bay has outshot Youngstown, 27-14.
