PHANTOMS LIVE / Gamblers ahead 2-1 after one

Late in the first period, the Phantoms’ Todd Koritzinsky tied the game 1-1 with a no-look backhand shot that slipped past Gamblers goaltender Ryan McKay.

Pat Conte set up the goal at the side of the Gamblers net when he dished a soft pass to Koritzinsky, who spun about 180 degrees before launching the puck. Chris Bradley also received an assist.

Just when it looked as if the Phantoms would escape a period where they were outshot 11-5 with a tie, the Gamblers’ Sheldon Dries beat O’Connor for a 2-1 lead.

The Phantoms argued unsuccessfully that Dries kicked the puck.
