ODNR issues two new permits for fracking wells in Trumbull, Columbiana counties

YOUNGSTOWN — Ohio Department of Natural Resources has issued two new well-drilling permits, including the first for a horizontal well in Trumbull County.

CNX Gas Co., Canonsburg, Pa., has received a permit in Vienna Township in Trumbull County. ODNR issued the permit April 16 for a site located off state Route 82 between Sodom-Hutchings and Warner roads.

ODNR issued the other well permit to Oklahoma-based Chesapeake Exploration LLC on April 13 for a site in Hanover Township in Columbiana County.

These are the 31st and 32nd horizontal drilling permits issued for the tri-county area.
