BOOK SALES

Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman, will have its 56th annual used book sale from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

CARD, BINGO PARTIES

Shepherd of the Valley-Poland, 301 W. Western Reserve Road, will have card games from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday. Refreshments will be served. Reservations are not required, and card players of all kind are invited to play.

St. Patrick Church, 357 N. Main St., Hubbard, will host a card and bingo social from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the church hall. The event is being sponsored by the church’s Altar & Rosary Society, and the donation is $5. A light lunch will be served, and there will be table and door prizes, a basket auction and a 50-50 raffle.

CRAFT SHOWS

The Women’s Guild of St. Jude Church, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana, will sponsor the 21st annual church craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at the church activity center. Interested venders can call the church at 330-482-2351 for information.

The Ladies Guild of St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Road, is looking for vendors for its first fall Craft, Antique and Flea Market. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 8 at the St. Maron Recreational Area. For more information call 330-533-9337 or 330-565-1959.

DANCES

Celebrity Dancers of Youngstown will present its 6th annual dance from 7 p.m. to midnight May 5 at the Mahoning Country Club, 710 E. Liberty St., Girard. Music will be provided by Gregg Edwards, and there also will be door prizes, a 50-50 raffle and a basket auction. Dinner will be served at 8 p.m., and a cash bar will be available. Attire is dressy. FESTIVALS/FAIRS

Harvey S. Firestone Festival of the Arts in Columbiana will return for its 26th year from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 4 with free admission and free parking for the public. Artists, crafters and antique dealers will be located in the park setting, where there also will be a variety of food vendors and an afternoon of free entertainment. The juried show has a limit of 250 spaces. For the application fee of $65, vendors receive a 20-by-20-foot space, free parking and dealers assistance. A cash prize will go to the most attractive booth in each of the three categories. Applications must include at least three photos of previous displays. After June 1, an additional fee of $10 will be charged.

FLEA MARKETS

Salem Memorial Building Association will host an indoor yard sale and flea market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 19 in the gym. One or more 8-foot tables with chairs may be reserved for a donation of $10 each. Setup time is from 6 to 8 a.m. the day of the sale, and all items are subject to approval. SALES

Austintown Eagles 3298 Auxiliary will host a trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at their social hall, 1655 S. Raccoon Road Proceeds will benefit The Potter’s Wheel of Youngstown.

First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., Sharon, Pa., will have a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. There also will be a bake sale on Friday, and Saturday will be $1-a-bag day.

New Middletown Free Methodist Church, 9900 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, is having a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. All items will be $1 per bag after noon Saturday.

Wickliffe Block Watch will have a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 151 N. Edgehill Ave., Austintown. Clean and usable donations are being accepted at 330-792-1571 and 330-774-1803. Proceeds will benefit the annual block party that is being planned for June 30.

Zion Hill Church, 14550 New Buffalo Road, Columbiana, will have a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

TRIPS

The 2012 Pink Ribbon Golf Classic Committee is sponsoring a bus trip to Wheeling Downs Racetrack and Casino on May 19. All proceeds from the trip will go to the American Cancer Society. The bus will leave at 9 a.m. from Fab Limo on Connecticut Avenue in Austintown, and will depart from Wheeling Downs at 5 p.m. The cost is $30 per person, and each player will receive $25 in free pay.
