Rocky Ridge group sets first Jane’s Walk

YOUNGSTOWN

Rocky Ridge Neighborhood Association will host the region’s first Jane’s Walk, to honor the birthday of the late Jane Jacobs, an urban activist.

The walk is scheduled for 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. May 5 beginning at The Shrine of Our Lady, Comforter of the Afflicted, 517 S. Belle Vista Ave.

Kasey Johnson, a Youngstown State University graduate student, and the RRNA are organizing the walk to highlight the culture, history and future investments of the distinct West Side area.

Among the stops on the walk are The Shrine of Our Lady (starting point and parking), Chaney High School and Mill Creek Park.

The event is free and there is ample free parking at the starting point.
