CAMPBELL

The 25th annual K.O. Drugs high school boxing tournament will resume Monday with 33 bouts on tap including two female championship fights.

The theme is simple: win and you’re in the championship round.

Third-round action will take place at St. Lucy’s Palermo Banquet Center with the championships to be decided on April 30. There are 16 upperclass and 15 underclass boys pairings.

“A win locks up a championship slot and that is what the boxers have been eyeing since the opening night of action,” said founder Chuck Nelson.

Five new members will be inducted into the tournament’s hall of fame: Jake “The Bull” Giuriceo of Campbell; “Raw” Cliff Gregory of Farrell, Pa.; Chris “Special K” Koval of Austintown; Stephanie “The Billion Dollar Baby” Sahli of Struthers; and longtime judge Tommy Kristian of Campbell.

Tickets cost $9 for students and $10 for adults, and will be available at the door.

Doors open at 6 p.m., with the first bout hitting the bell at 7 p.m.
