WYSU plans pledge drive

YOUNGSTOWN

Listener-supported WYSU 88.5 FM, Youngstown State University’s public radio service, will have its annual spring pledge drive from Tuesday through Friday with a goal of $115,000.

This would be the most for a WYSU spring membership drive. Also, for the third drive in a row, the on-air portion of the WYSU membership drive will be just 72 hours long.

Everyone who pledges support to WYSU (either as a new member, a renewing member, or with an additional gift) between now and the end of the drive will be entered into a drawing to win a pair of tickets on a Go Ahead Tours 11-day tour of Vienna, Budapest and Prague.

The station will offer daily prize packages, a new-member prize package and a Pennsylvania-member prize package. All of the prize packages will include a new HD radio. No donation is necessary to be entered into drawings.

Additionally, thanks to support from idmi.net, all Web pledges made to WYSU-FM this spring (through a secure online server at www.wysu.org) will qualify for a partial match.

WYSU’s biannual fund drives are critical to the station’s success.

“One could say that all our funding is driven by our membership support, since this is the key factor that helps determine all other sources of revenue, such as the funds we receive from Youngstown State University, our business underwriting partners and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting,” said WYSU director Gary Sexton.

Contributions to the station’s spring pledge drive can be made between now and Friday by phone at 330-941-1481, or through a secure online server at www.wysu.org.
