Hermitage man critical after tree falls on him

HERMITAGE, PA.

A man was severely injured by a falling tree, Hermitage police said.

The accident happened around 4:20 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Robertson Road.

William R. Hughey III, 34, of Sharpsville, was taken to UPMC in Pittsburgh by helicopter after the tree, which was being cut down, fell on him, police said.

UPMC said Friday that Hughey was in critical condition.
