Small-caliber bullet found at Girard school cafeteria

GIRARD — A small-caliber bullet was found inside the Girard Intermediate School cafeteria Thursday, according to a letter sent from the school's principal Gregory Bonamase to parents.

"As your child might have told you, we followed our safety procedures and placed the building into lockdown," Bonamase wrote.

Bonamase wrote the round was found during breakfast time.

He said Girard police were on hand during the lockdown and that the situation was resolved.
