On the morning of April 7, a collection of 80 hard-boiled eggs headed to the activity area at Poland Shepherd of the Valley. Then, with the help of Shepherd residents, the eggs got some personality as they were dyed deep orange, blue, pink and green.

The Easter-eve activity helped provide a vibrantly-colored egg to be served alongside each resident’s meal during the Easter Sunday supper the following day.

Activity assistant Terri Eisenbraun helped mix water, vinegar and color tabs in specially-made Easter egg dye cups. A group of nine residents soon found the special cups leaked a bit, and after sharing plenty of laughs, went back to the old-fashioned way and dropped eggs into the dye gently with a spoon.

The Easter fun naturally segued into the residents’ memories of the holiday throughout the years.

“It’s very nice that these residents gave their time to help provide an Easter treat for each person in the facility,” noted Eisenbraun during the process.
