Ohio fuel business is hit by fire

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio

Authorities say a blaze that created thick black smoke and 200-foot flames at a western Ohio fuel distributing company is now under control.

The Springfield News-Sun reports that more than 50 agencies responded to the fire.

Nearby schools dismissed students early and traffic was blocked around the site of R.D. Holder Oil Co. The business supplies fuel, heating oil, and heavy lubricants.

Authorities said the fire ignited while a truck was being loaded late Thursday morning, and then the blaze spread quickly to a warehouse.

State fire marshal investigators are looking into the cause. But one fire chief told the newspaper he believed it was a mishap with fuel and not a criminal act.
