Jazz Fest features famous drummer

Boardman High School jazz ensembles I, II and III and special guest drummer Bernie Dresel performed as part of the 12th annual Boardman High School Jazz Fest April 2 in the Boardman Performing Arts Center.
After the concert, Dresel had a meet-and-greet in the band room where students and fans met with him personally.
Dresel grew up in Sharon, Pa., and began drumming at an early age. His most popular work is with Grammy Award-winning Brian Setzer Orchestra and Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band.
He has also performed and recorded with some of the biggest names in the business including Ben Vereen, Ringo Starr, Maynard Ferguson, Chaka Khan, Doc Severinson, Philip Bailey, Dolly Parton, James Taylor, James Brown, Frank Sinatra, Little Richard, Gene Simmons, B.B. King, Patti LaBelle, Brian Adams, The Lettermen, The 5th Dimension, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera and more.
