The 18th Angels for Animals Gigantic Garage Sale, held over three days at the Canfield Fairgrounds, offered something for everyone and was expected to attract more than 6,000 shoppers.

The sale offered bargain shoppers the opportunity to browse thousands of square feet in four buildings for great deals on thousands of items, including small appliances, baby items, books, holiday items, toys, household items, office supplies, exercise equipment, furniture, sewing machines, tools, antiques and collectibles, jewelry, clothing, bedding, purses, hats and shoes.

Attendees were given a list of items in each building and a map to help them locate the buildings.

The garage sale is the shelter’s largest annual fundraiser and was coordinated by Lee Kumik.

Angels for Animals accepted donations for the sale during the three days before the start of the sale. Volunteers priced the items and set up tables in the buildings.Volunteers from the organization also helped during the sale days, from collecting entrance fees, to working the food stand, to working the check outs in each building and keeping the tables and items organized.

A Chinese auction was also held with baskets full of donated items and a 50/50 raffle was also available.

All proceeds from the sale go directly to help provide food, shelter and veterinary care for the dogs and cats awaiting adoption at the shelter.
