Stand Against Racism Thursday in Warren

WARREN

YWCA Warren and Partners for a Peaceful Community are sponsoring a Stand Against Racism event from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the YWCA, 375 N. Park Ave.

Mayor Doug Franklin will be guest speaker.

Warren schoolchildren will display art projects that depict how they see racism, and students from the YW’s mentoring program will perform a skit depicting how racism plays a role in our everyday lives.

Refreshments will be provided by the Warren Junior Women’s League.

Partners for a Peaceful Community is a diverse team of organizations and individuals in Trumbull County committed to promoting peace. It was formed after continued senseless violence in the community, including the shooting death of 11-year-old Lloyd McCoy in 2009.
