MS walk set for Saturday at new location

The 2012 Mahoning Valley Walk MS is Saturday at its new location in Scrappers Stadium at 111 Eastwood Mall Blvd., Niles, behind the Eastwood Mall.

Check-in begins at 8 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 a.m.

The average Walk MS participant raises $225. The funds go toward local programs to help MS victims and their families and to support 17 research projects in Ohio. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society has invested more than $6.3 million over a three-year period for researchers at Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and The Ohio State University.

Walk MS is about rallying for a better future for those affected by MS, 20,000 of whom are Ohio residents.

Other Walk MS events are April 28 at the University of Akron, the Massillon Recreation Center, Mentor High School and Price Park in North Canton.
