Trent Collins pitched a no-hitter, striking out six. Collins allowed only three runners, two by walks. Pat Barrett’s two-run triple in the third inning provided the only scoring. Jake Foster added a double for the Red Dragons (13-5, 5-1 AAC).

Ursuline 7, St. Thomas 0

STRUTHERS

Sophomore Dion Felger gave up one hit, struck out nine, and didn’t issue a walk in his first career start for the Irish (7-2). Ryan Strollo had three hits, including a triple, and Harry Finelli added two singles for the Irish. Sam Donko hit a double and Tannor Berry also tripled for Ursuline.

Boardman 5, Hoover 3

BOARDMAN

Troy Parks (4-0) scattered seven hits and struck out four for the Spartans (9-3, 4-0 Federal League). Dan Popio added two singles and three runs scored, and Phil DiIanni had three hits, including a double, and an RBI for Boardman. Cameron Rogers finished with a double and single and he drove in four runs. Eric LePage hit a triple and Austin Appleby added a double for Hoover (11-4, 2-3).

West Branch 12, Salem 1

SALEM

Jake Smith had a double, a single and four RBIs and Ryan Adams had a hit and an RBI for the Warriors (8-6, 4-3 NBC). Jeff Vizzuso (3-2) pitched three innings of one-hit ball before Beau Taylor took over for the final two innings. Keaton O’Brien had a hit for the Quakers (1-13, 0-7).

Struthers 6, Hubbard 5

HUBBARD

Nick Gigax’s two-out, two-run double in the top of the sixth carried the Wildcats (9-4), who also rode the three-inning relief performance of Anthony Lariccia (1-0). Roman Salinas had his first home run, while Lariccia, Joe Wilaj and Mike Kunzer also doubled for Struthers. Jordan Thomson doubled for Hubbard.

Girard 2, Lakeview 1 (11 inn.)

GIRARD

Sophomore Zane Chase scored the winning run in the bottom of the 11th on a fielding error on Evan Standohar’s infield grounder while a double steal was in progress. Chase and Jim Melfi were the runners trying to advance with Standohar, a sophomore, at bat. Chase was a pinch-runner for A.J. DeVore, a senior who led off the inning with a double, followed by Melfi being hit-by-pitch. Melfi, Dan Graziano and Jordan Graziano all had two singles for the Indians (13-5, 4-2 AAC). For Lakeview (3-9, 2-5 AAC), Anthony Franco, A.J. Hrusovsky, Kevin Arnold, Will Maus and Andrew Grove had two hits apiece. Of the two hits by Maus and Grove, one was a double, with Maus’ registering an RBI.

Springfield 7, South Range 6,

NEW MIDDLETOWN

A five-run first inning got the ball rolling for the Tigers (10-3 6-1 ITCL), who got three hits from winning pitcher Nick Russell (5-0), who struck out nine over eight innings. Also for Springfield, Ryan Kohler and Hunter Snyder had two hits apiece. Mason Miller had two hits and Bill Goodall had a double and three RBIs for South Range (8-6, 6-1).

McDonald 4, Wellsville 1

WELLSVILLE

Over the first six innings, Christian Rusinowski (3-0) allowed just one hit and five walks with five strikeouts for the Blue Devils. Michael Raschilla singled three times.

Lowellville 11,

Jackson-Milton 10

STRUTHERS

Spiro Schialdon had two hits, including a two-run single in a seven-run seventh inning to lift Lowellville (5-7). Randy Pavlicko added two hits and two RBIs and Dante Basista had three hits, including a double, and three RBIs. For Jackson-Milton (9-10), Zach Nagy had two hits, two walks and three RBIs.

Lisbon 8, Mineral Ridge 3

MINERAL RIDGE

In a game in which only 11 hits were registered, junior Dan Ferguson had three doubles for Mineral Ridge (7-9), whose pitchers gave up 10 walks. For Lisbon, Reese had two singles and two RBIs and Barnes had two RBIs.

Crestview 13, Columbiana 0

COLUMBIANA

Austin Eskra had three hits, Brandon Jayne had two hits and three RBIs and Adam Coppock had two hits to lead Crestview (8-4, 6-2 ITCL Tier Two), which took a 7-0 lead in the first inning. Austin Eskra tossed a four-hitter over five innings, striking out nine and walking one. Austin Minor pitched 12⁄3 innings of scoreless relief for Columbiana (5-10, 5-4).

Mathews 6, Southington 5

VIENNA

Brad Watson coaxed a bases-loaded, two-out walk in the bottom of the seventh to lift Mathews (9-8, 7-4 NAC). Brandon Cetor had three hits and Jeremy Fumerola two for the Mustangs. Connor Oakford had an RBI single in the top of the seventh to help Southington tie the game at 5.

Warren JFK 15,

Cle. Central Catholic 2 (5 inn.)

CLEVELAND

Vince Infante, Brendan Cox, James Coates and Alec Rossi all had two hits for JFK (10-0). Wolf gave up one hit in the first 22⁄3 innings, with Cox and Luke Keck finishing off the one-hitter.

Maplewood 4, Bristol 3

BRISTOLVILLE

Kevin Jones had an 11-strikeout, four-hitter and Matt Spitler had two hits for Maplewood (10-6). Zach Dibell had two hits for Bristol (4-6, 3-4).
