Reception planned

BOARDMAN

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is having a “friendraiser” reception at 6 p.m. Wednesday at O’Charley’s Restaurant, 930 Windham Court.

The reception will allow people to meet the St. Jude staff, hear about the work of the research hospital, located in Memphis, Tenn., and learn how to get involved locally in fundraising. The late entertainer Danny Thomas founded the hospital 50 years ago. It treats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. No family ever pays St. Jude for the care their child receives.

Light appetizers will be served.
