POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:

GIRARD

April 6

Theft: A two-way radio, a pair of sunglasses, a strobe light and loose change were taken from a vehicle in the 100 block of Elruth Court.

April 7

Criminal damaging: Roughly seven BBs struck the front living-room window to a residence in the 100 block of Morris Avenue. The damage estimate was $600.

April 8

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 100 block of East Kline Street was found with a broken rear window.

Vandalism: Someone in the 100 block of Church Hill Road spray-painted a car and the front of a home.

Harassment: A Church Hill Road woman reported a neighbor made a derogatory comment toward her as part of an ongoing dispute.

April 9

Arrests: Officers responded to a fight in the 100 block of Church Hill Road and issued summonses to Rebecca M. Kennedy of Church Hill Road, Girard, as well as John Meckulch, no age given, and Joshua Meckulch, 18, both of 131 Church Hill. All were charged with disorderly conduct.

Arrest: Police in the 100 block of North Market Street picked up 57-year-old William O. Stevens of 502 Park Ave., Girard. He was wanted on a warrant.

Attempted burglary: A man returning to his Crumlin Avenue residence saw a male running from the residence, though no entry had been made.

April 10

Domestic violence: Police charged 18-year-old Joshua O. Meckulch, 131 Church Hill Road, Girard, with the crime after Meckulch’s sister alleged he had struck her face during a fight.

LIBERTY

April 5

Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop led to charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and having no operator’s license against 26-year-old Anthony Anerino, 1174 E. Park Drive, Brookfield, after police said they found three suspected marijuana pipes and papers commonly used to roll marijuana.

Identity fraud: A Mansell Drive man learned that someone had made six unauthorized charges to his account totaling $220.

Domestic violence: Glenn Mosley, 50, was arrested at his residence, 3031 North Gate Drive, Liberty, and charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged an intoxicated Mosley had forcefully poked her numerous times in the head and threatened to do further harm to her.

April 6

Theft: A Girard man, formerly of Frederick Street, accused his former landlord of taking a microwave oven, lease papers and various receipts.

Arrest: A traffic stop near Gypsy Lane resulted in the arrest of 32-year-old David Brown of 234 Crandall Ave., Youngstown, on a charge of driving under suspension. Brown also was wanted on a township warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court.

Weapon: Police pulled over a car near state Route 304, where they charged 42-year-old Randy E. Tooch of Darlington, Pa., with carrying a concealed weapon and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. Tooch failed to notify officers of the loaded semiautomatic handgun, and Ohio does not honor a concealed-carry permit from Pennsylvania, a report said.

April 7

Arrest: Ross A. Francis, 42, of 1624 Robbins Ave., Niles, was picked up in the 3100 block of Belmont Avenue. He was wanted on a warrant from the Trumbull County 911 center.

April 8

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A New Castle, Pa., man at a Belmont Avenue motel said a woman had borrowed but failed to return his 2005 sport-utility vehicle.

Arrest: Officers responding to a disturbance in the 1600 block of East Liberty Street issued a summons charging Monique A. Whitacre, 22, of 717 Lincoln Ave., Niles, with disorderly conduct while intoxicated after saying she failed to desist.

Drug paraphernalia: Officers stopped 27-year-old Joseph Harris’ vehicle on Colonial Drive, then charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension. Harris, of 441 Lora Ave., Youngstown, had a pipe with suspected marijuana residue, a report showed.

April 9

Recovered property: A Goist Lane man learned that his 2006 Chevrolet vehicle had been towed before he reported it stolen.

HUBBARD

March 31

Possible fraud: A possible scam was reported in the 2000 block of Wick-Campbell Road.

Arrest: Authorities picked up 31-year-old Trodney Ollie, 1732 Atkinson Ave., Youngstown, on a warrant accusing him of failing to comply with police.

Arrest: Michael R. Reid, 18, of 20 Rebecca Ave., Hubbard, was taken into custody on a charge of failure to appear in court.

April 2

Breaking and entering: Took place in the 3000 block of Broadview Avenue.

Drug paraphernalia: Officers charged 22-year-old Mario L. Schultz of 426 Ohio Ave., Warren, with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Possible burglary: A possible break-in was reported in the 5000 block of Youngstown-Hubbard Road.

Drugs: Michael Bender, 23, of 8068 Addison Road, Masury, faced charges of cocaine and marijuana possession.

April 3

Arrest: Authorities took into custody 32-year-old Janessa Moore of 64 Westview Drive, Hubbard. She was charged with one count of falsification.
