Color guard prepares for opening ceremony

More than 170 people recently attended the seventh annual Celebration of Scouting fundraiser breakfast at the Holiday Inn in Boardman. So far, this year’s event has raised $24,243. As they prepare for the opening ceremony, the color guard pauses for a moment. From left are Eagle Scouts Joe Belgrade, Vincent Calautti, Marcus Masello, Mark Verostko and Anthony Calautti. The Whispering Pines District of the Greater Western Reserve Boy Scout Council serves families in Mahoning County and Hubbard, with 1215 youths involved in 42 units supported by 536 adult volunteers.
