SENIOR CITIZENS


55-Plus Club of Liberty will have its annual spring meeting at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Assembly of God Church, 3243 Cardinal Drive, Liberty. Kay Herberger will preside, and hostesses will be Carolyn Davanzo, Irene Hudak and Jenny Mrosko. Cards will be played, and there will be a 50-50 raffle.

55-Plus Club of Mineral Ridge will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Church. After the meeting and card games, members will dine out.

AARP Chapter 4611 will meet Wednesday at St. Augustine Church, 614 Parmelee Ave., Youngstown. An executive board meeting will begin at 11 a.m., and the general meeting will follow at noon. Felicia Alexander, Youngstown Minority Health Director, will be the guest speaker. Members are reminded that raffle tickets and money are due at the meeting; the drawing will follow. Coitsville Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the dining room at Bedford Trails Golf Course; members can order from the menu. Jane Orlo will preside, and Dorothy Churilla will give devotions. Birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged, there will be 50-50 drawing, and Steve Hrycik will call for card bingo. Yearly dues should be paid at this time. Croatian Pensioners of the Mahoning Valley will meet at noon Thursday at the St. George Croatian Center, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown. State Rep. Ron Gerberry will be the featured speaker. Members should note that reservations for the Founders Day dinner scheduled for May 17 will be taken through May 13. The cost to attend is $8 for members and $10 for guests; checks should be made payable to Croatian Pensioners. The day will start with a Mass at the center at 11 a.m. followed by the dinner. Girard OldTimers Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Lamancusa Restaurant, Trumbull Road.

Girard Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Eagles aerie, 26 W. Wilson Ave. April birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged, and bingo and cards will be played. Reservations will be taken for the picnic scheduled for June 20. Members should take a sack lunch and beverage.

Holy Family Seniors will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Hope Hall at the Holy Family Center. Use the Youth Center entrance. There will be cards, bingo and a 50-50 drawing. Sandwiches and refreshments will be served. Hostesses are Vickie Murphy, Mary Medovich and Jean Evans.

Keenagers of Third Baptist Church will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. On the agenda is the discussion of trips and activities for this summer. Each person is asked to present a suggestion for a summer activity. All who are going on the trip in June are to pay $50, which is now due.

Local 1199 Union Retirees will meet at 10 a.m. Friday at the union hall on Belmont Avenue, Youngstown. All members are asked to attend, and new members are welcome.

Local 2243 U.S.W.A. Retirees (S.O.A.R. Chapter 1-28-10) will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Local 1375 Union Hall, 684 N. Park Ave., Warren. Guest speaker will be Marge Haley, program and activities.

Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Barbara Burnside will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. OBES Retirees will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Friendly’s on Route 224 in Poland. All OBES retirees are welcome.

REAC 3298 will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at Lucianno’s in Austintown. Irene Brown and Toni Ricciardulli will serve as hostesses, and a 50-50 raffle will take place. New members are welcome. The next meeting will be May 21.

Retired Registered Nurses will meet at 1 p.m. April 24 at Western Reserve Methodist Church, 4560 Canfield Road, Canfield. The guest speaker will be Nancy Sopkic, who will talk about identity theft. Refreshments will follow, and all area registered nurses are welcome.

St. Christine Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the parish center. Ruth Infante will preside, and reports will be given by Dorothy LoSasso and Carol McClain. Hostesses are Jean Kiliany, Mary Morley, Theresa Seidel, Anna Mae Canizaro and Mary West. There will be a drawing for a free luncheon and a 50-50 raffle. Dues of $5 for 2012 will be collected. New members are welcome. Bingo and cards will be played.
