The annual Leonardi Legacy concert will be at 8 p.m. Thursday in Stambaugh Auditorium’s Christman Hall.

The concert, sponsored by the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University and Stambaugh, recognizes the late Tony Leonardi, founder of Dana’s jazz studies program.

The concert will feature the faculty of the jazz studies program in various musical presentations, from duos to large ensembles. The concert will include Jeff Bush, trombone; Kent Engelhardt, saxophone; Matt Ferraro, saxophone; Dave Kana, saxophone; Ken Karsh, guitar; Dave Morgan, bass; and Glenn Schaft, percussion.

Each musician will be featured on music of their choosing, and the concert will conclude with a grand finale including all performers.

The selections will include standards, jazz compositions and original material.

There will be a pre- concert reception sponsored by the YSU Foundation beginning at 6:30 p.m. featuring the student jazz combos from YSU.

The audience is invited to greet the performers and listen to YSU jazz students perform. Tickets are $5 (free for YSU students with valid ID) and will only be available at the door.
