The Sutliff Museum of the Warren Library Association will present its second annual Civil War commemoration in the center court of Eastwood Mall from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.

The Battle of Shiloh at Pittsburg Landing, Tenn., will be the focus.

One of the bloodiest battles of the war, Shiloh resulted in a much-needed victory for the Union in the “West” — Tennessee and other states bordering the Mississippi River.

Many men from Trumbull County fought in the battle, and their descendents especially are invited to come to the program.

More than a dozen displays will be set up, from field equipment and armaments to women’s clothing of the period.

Three tents will demonstrate the life of soldiers in camp.

Re-enactors from the Ohio Volunteer 105th Infantry will explain their roles in the battle.

Large graphics will show the battle hour by hour and unit by unit.

An enlistment table will allow people to sign up just as if they were going off to fight in 1862.

The program will feature speakers every hour starting at 1 p.m. with the Battle of Shiloh and Trumbull County’s role in it.

At 2 p.m., Gens. Sherman and Grant will discuss their roles in the battle.

At 3 p.m., Civil War medicine will be discussed and demonstrated.

At 4 p.m., President Lincoln will deliver a short address.

At 4:30, there will be a presentation on the Confederate Monument at Shiloh, a tribute to the men who fought there.
