Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road (Route 224), will host a Divine Mercy devotion at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be sung followed by veneration of the Divine Mercy image. Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will follow.

Prayer breakfast

Heart and Soul Ministry of Restoration Christian Fellowship, 151 Folsom St., will host a free prayer breakfast next Saturday with Kim Walker, co-pastor, as speaker. A continental breakfast will be at 9 a.m. in the multipurpose building followed by a service at 10 in the sanctuary. Joseph E. Walker Jr. is pastor.

Gospel concert

Christ’s Church, 7155 Glenwood Ave., will host a Southern Gospel concert by Ivan Parker on Sunday. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with the concert at 6. Tickets are $16 and $13.

Men and Women United for Life, an anti-abortion group in the Diocese of Youngstown, and the Youth Ministry students from Holy Family Church, will sponsor the second annual celebration of life, “Blessed One,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Holy Family Church, 2729 Center Road (Route 224).

Keynote speaker will be Deacon Ralph Poyo of the Diocese of Steubenville, founder of New Evangelization Ministries.

Monica Troy of Cincinnati also will speak of her faith and healing after having a baby as a teen and then placing the infant up for adoption. She will share her experience of being reunited with her daughter.

The praise group “Morning Star” will lead prayer and song.

Area anti-abortion groups will be represented and will be available to share information.

A reception will follow in the parish center.

Kinchlow to speak

MERCER, PA.

Ben Kinchlow, former co-host of the 700 Club, will be the main speaker at the tea party meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Mercer Courthouse. Kinchlow will also speak at 11 a.m. Sunday morning at Cedar Avenue Bible Church, 664 Cedar Ave, Sharon.

Theology on Tap

The Mahoning County chapter of Theology on Tap will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Buffalo Wild Wings in the Southern Park Mall. Father Steve Popovich will speak on the topic “From Angry Birds to Eagles Wings: How to Handle Stress.” Adults age 18-39 are welcome. Those who bring a 5-pound bag of sugar will get a free drink.

Easter Taiz

Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will offer a special Easter Taiz prayer from 7 to 8 p.m. April 24 in Magnificat Chapel at Villa Maria Community Center. The Taiz prayer service is based on a ritual developed by an ecumenical community in France dedicated to prayer and simplicity. Taiz is a Christian Interdenominational prayer form which incorporates music, Scripture and silence. Musicians from the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, Pa., will provide the music. Refreshments will follow.
