Boardman sport briefs

Brownlee scholarship applications available

Applications for the George Brownlee Scholarship will be available Monday in the high school Guidance office. Eligible candidates include Boardman seniors who have participated in two or more varsity sports. They should also exhibit characteristics of Leadership, Enthusiasm, Friendship, Team Spirit, Industriousness and Humility. These characteristics were evident in Brownlee’s life.

The scholarship is funded by selling bricks to complete the BHS Sports Complex Walkway. The bricks are engraved to permanently recognize the contributor. Many former students, athletes and businesses have joined the effort. For information, visit www.georgebrownlee.com or contact the athletic office. The application deadline is May 3.
