CHAMPION
The NEO HealthForce Career Workshop will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Community Outreach Center in Champion Presbyterian Church, 4997 Mahoning Ave. NW.
The workshop is for anyone considering a health career and is free. Attendees will learn about a range of health careers. Schools and colleges will discuss their training programs and costs.
NEO HealthForce is committed to addressing work-force shortages in the health industry.
Open house set
WARREN
The Warren G. Harding FIRST Robotics Team, Delphi ELITE, Team 48, will have an open house from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the small gym at Warren G. Harding High School to talk about the successful season the team has had.
Team 48 travels to St. Louis April 25-28 for the World Championship. Students and mentors from Team 48 will answer questions and demonstrate this year’s robot and game.
Officials from Warren City Schools and Delphi will attend to show their support. The event is open to the public.
The team finished first in events in Pittsburgh and Wisconsin and second in Cincinnati. Team 48 also has earned team awards such as the Pittsburgh Regional Chairman’s Award, the highest honor in FIRST Robotics.
Remove decorations
Hartford
The Hartford Township Board of Trustees is requesting that all outdated decorations be removed from the township cemeteries by April 30 to get prepared for Memorial Day.
New cafe to open
YOUNGSTOWN
A new cafe will open Saturday in the East Side branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, 430 Early Road. “Yummy Mummy’s” will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day, offering 20 percent opening day discounts on orders of $5 or more.
Cafe owners Mylissa and Benjamin Santiago are branching out into the cafe business from a catering business they have been operating. The cafe will feature soups, salads, sandwiches, desserts and coffees.
Regular hours will be from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Wednesday.
The cafe will be closed Thursdays and Fridays.
Special meeting
Columbiana
There will be a special meeting of the Columbiana Exempted Village Board of Education at 3 p.m. today in the board room of the high school. The board will enter into executive session for the employment, dismissal or compensation of an employee or the investigation of charges or complaints against an employee, possible litigation and matters required to be kept confidential by federal law, rules or state statutes. No action will be taken.
Commission to meet
NEW MIDDLETOWN
The New Middletown Village Records Commission will meet briefly after the next regular council meeting, which is set for 7 p.m. May 14, to discuss annual records disposal. The meeting is open to the public.
