Springfield to upgrade stop signs, sets clean-up day
NEW SPRINGFIELD
Four-way stop signs will be installed Monday at the intersection of Sandy Court and Midway in the Carousel Corners development off Calla Road.
Township Road Superintendent Rich Kennedy told trustees Wednesday night that residents have been requesting the intersection be changed from a two-way stop for years after many near crashes, although only one accident occurred in the last few years.
Also at Wednesday’s meeting, trustees awarded the contract for repaving Macklin Road from Garfield Road to the Columbiana County line to Butch and McCree of Hillsville, Police Chief Matthew Mohn reported that training of the township’s new police dog has begun and the township’s annual cleanup will be April 21.
