Earth Day event will be a repurposed sale

BOARDMAN

Boardman United Methodist Preschool and Child Care Center, 6809 Market St., will celebrate Earth Day with a week full of activities April 23-27.

The theme this year is “Repurposing.” Among the highlights of the week will be an earth-friendly sale by the prekindergarten class from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. April 23 and 24. Children are creating jewelry, rain sticks, vases and magnets for the sale, all from recycled materials. Younger children will create decorations to display during the sale.

The pre-kindergarten class, under the direction of their teachers, Cara Pecchia, Jennifer Dankovich and Lynda Hawkins, work hard throughout the year to make the school a green environment.

There is also a toy drive during the week, and the public is asked for non-battery operated toys that will be sent to children in underprivileged areas.
