“The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas,SDRq New Castle Playhouse. Auditions will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday. Needed: six women age 22 to 55 and eight men age 25 to 65. Auditionees will read from the script and be prepared with a one-minute vocal selection. Bring accompaniment CD if desired; accompanist will be available. “Last Summer at Bluefish Cove,SDRq Oakland Center for the Arts, 220 W. Boardman St., Youngstown. Auditions will be at 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday in the Star Gallery. Auditonees will be asked to read from the script. Eight females age 20 to 50 are needed. Christopher Fidram will direct. Performances will be at 8 p.m. June 8, 9, 15, 16, 20 and 22. “Princess and the Pea,SDRq “Three by Three” and “Little Shop of Horrors,” Kent Trumbull Theatre, 4314 Mahoning Ave., NW, Warren. Auditions for all shows will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 26 and from 10 a.m. to noon April 28. “Princess and the Pea” will be staged in June; “Three by Three” in July has roles for children from 8 to 17 years old; and “Little Shop of Horrors” will be performed in July, and singers should be prepared with a song. “Dog Days,SDRq Victorian Players and J&B Production Arts Services, 720 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. Auditions will be at 7 p.m. May 13 and 14. The cast requires 15 men age 17 to 40. Some of the available roles are good opportunities for actors from high school theater departments. An adult German shepherd dog also is needed for a brief appearance. The play is about Albert Wickline, grandfather of former local actress Sarah Klimenko, who was a tailgunner in a B-17 bomber during World War II. He was shot down behind enemy lines. Director is J.E. Models

Eastwood Mall Center Court, Sobeestyle will have model auditions for the first Youngstown Fashion Week (YFW) on Saturday. Registration will take place from 10 a.m. to noon. Model auditions will be from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Casting both male and female models age 16 and older for YFW, which will take place Sept. 28 and 29. The YFW Model form can be downloaded from www.youngstownfashionweek.com to expedite the registration process. Models under 18 must include parent/guardian signature on the model form.

MUSICIANS

Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra, season auditions will take place in May only (there will be no summer or fall auditions). Advanced students up to and including college age can apply. Each 10-minute audition will consist of a solo of your choice, scales and specific orchestral excerpts. Application form, guidelines and most music excerpts can be downloaded from the Audition & Membership page of the PYSO website: pyso.us. Audition times will be scheduled in advance after audition application form and nonrefundable audition fee have been received. Questions may be emailed to info@pyso.us.

SIngers

Tapestries of Ohio, an ensemble of 12 voices, is seeking a tenor. Auditions will be at 2 p.m. April 29 at Canfield United Methodist Church on The Green in Canfield. Those auditioning will be required to sing a prepared solo in addition to sight-reading the voice part with another selection made by the director. Voice range will be checked; musical experience will be shared. Rehearsals begin at the end of July on Sunday afternoons, and in November, rehearsals are twice weekly. Boar’s Head dinners are the first two weekends in December in Warren.

Audition notices are published in this space every Thursday. Deadline to submit casting calls is one week before publication.
