Family identifies woman dumped at Warren service station

Staff report

WARREN

The family of a woman who was dumped unconscious out of a car at the McQuaid’s/Sunoco gas station at West Market Street and Tod Avenue Southwest Monday has identified her, police said.

The woman is 26 years old and from Champion, said Detective Mike Stabile. Her identity is not being released pending notification of all family members.

Family members came to the Warren Police Department Tuesday afternoon to report her missing. That’s when police informed them of the woman found at the gas station, Stabile said.

The woman remains in a medically induced coma. Her condition is not known, Stabile said.

Police learned that the woman had been dropped off Monday about 11:45 a.m. at the Walgreens store just across West Market Street from the gas station.

At 12:45 p.m., a witness saw a white female in a royal blue Oldsmobile pull the unconscious woman from the front passenger seat of the Oldsmobile and onto the pavement near a gas pump.

The driver then left the scene south on Tod Avenue. Police were unable to locate the driver. Police said the unconscious woman had no apparent signs of injury but was not breathing and was purplish blue and didn’t have a pulse.

Ambulance personnel performed CPR and took the woman to Trumbull Memorial Hospital, where she remained Tuesday.
