Inventors group will meet April 11

The Youngstown & Warren Inventors Association will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Liberty Township Administration Building, 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

Guest speaker will be Ron Dennison, owner of D&D Lure in New Springfield. He will give a presentation on his developed and patented triple-D plug fishing lures. The meeting is free.

Last chance for Ohio-Pa. summit

YOUNGSTOWN

Monday is the last day to register for the Ohio-Pennsylvania Manufacturing Workforce Summit, which will take place at Youngstown State University’s Kilcawley Center from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.

The event will feature an appearance by Jay Williams, former Youngstown mayor and current federal auto czar.

The summit will focus on two key topics: the skilled-work-force shortage facing Northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania and attracting, developing and retaining skilled work forces.

Panelists include Brian Benyo, president of Youngstown-based Brilex Industries Inc., a fabricating and machining plant; and Mike Garvey, president of M-7 Technologies in Youngstown, a provider of advanced instrumentation and equipment and manufacturing and repair services.
