Volunteer briefing for highway cleanup, appliance recycling at Covelli

YOUNGSTOWN

Two earth-friendly events are scheduled for the Covelli Centre on April 14.

At 8 a.m., volunteers will be briefed and given cleanup supplies there before they go to local highway on and off ramps to pick up litter in a state-sponsored roadway cleanup.

The other Covelli Centre event that day is an appliance recycling drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, microwaves and other items made primarily of metal, even those containing Freon will be accepted for free.

The events are sponsored by Youngstown Litter Control and Recycling and the Mahoning County Recycling Division.
