Ulster Project schedules fundraisers

BOARDMAN

The Mahoning Valley Ulster Project has been bringing 15-year-olds from the Belfast area of Northern Ireland to the Mahoning Valley for the past 20 years.

In July, the teens are paired with Valley teens of the same age and gender. For the month they participate in service projects, picnics, amusement parks, group faith sessions and Sunday worshiping.

This year the Ulster Project will host an afternoon with entertainer Cahal Dunne on April 22 at St. Luke Banquet Center, 5235 South Ave. Dinner will begin at 3 p.m., and his performance will start about 4:15. Dinner will feature chicken francaise, glazed pork roast, roasted red potatoes, green beans almondine, tossed salad, rolls and butter, light beverages and a cash bar.

The cost of a combo ticket of dinner and the concert is $30 per person, and the concert only is $15. Call 330-758-8546 or email leojay@zoominternet.net for ticket reservations, or visit The House of Erin on Southern Boulevard to buy tickets. For information visit the web at www.ulsterprojectmv.com.

The Mahoning Valley Ulster Project also will host its 2012 Peace Lunch from noon to 3 p.m. April 29 at Holy Family Parish Center, 2729 Center Road, Poland. That menu will consist of French toast sticks, sausage links, roasted lemon chicken, roasted potatoes, green bean almondine, fresh fruit cup, coffee/tea/soft drinks and rolls. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Proceeds will benefit the Ulster Project.
