Charlie O’Connor’s shorthanded goal in the third period snapped a 2-2 tie and sent the Chicago Steel to a 4-2 victory over the Youngstown Phantoms on Friday at the Ice Zone.

The loss prevented the Phantoms from clinching home-ice advantage in the first round of the USHL playoffs.

JT Stenglein and Austin Cangelosi scored for the Phantoms. Matt O’Connor stopped 25 shots as the Phantoms lost their fifth-straight contest.
