Mill Creek Park group will celebrate today

YOUNGSTOWN

The Guardians of Mill Creek Park are planning to celebrate the vision and legacy of Volney Rogers today with music, poetry, remembrances, gifts to nature and homage to the past and future.

All are invited to this event, which will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the site of the Volney Rogers statue, at the southwest corner of Falls and Glenwood avenues.

The Guardians are dedicated to upholding the goals and vision of Rogers, founder of the park, to protect it and ensure that it is properly cared for and managed.

Today is the anniversary of the day that the people of Youngstown voted to establish the park. The Guardians want to announce their intentions to be diligent stewards of the park.
