Police plan to charge stepdad in road ambush

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) — State police say they plan to charge the 46-year-old stepfather with ambushing his 37-year-old stepson in a road rage incident in southwestern Pennsylvania.

The Associated Press is not identifying either man because troopers from the Uniontown barracks had yet to file criminal charges early today.

But Trooper Stefani Plume tells reporters the incident happened about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday when the stepson crashed his motorcycle on Pa. Route 51 in Franklin Township, Fayette County.

Police say further investigation revealed that the stepson crashed because his stepfather was waiting alongside the highway and pulled into the path of the motorcycle, forcing it off the road. Police say the men have a “history” of violent disagreements and that they had argued sometime before the crash.
