BOARDMAN

Cameron Rogers laced two triples and collected five RBIs for Boardman (3-1, 1-0 Federal League). Dan Popio went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Every player in the Spartan lineup had at least one hit.

Poland 8, Fitch 6

AUSTINTOWN

Austin Beil homered, doubled and drove in two runs, Chris Elliott homered and drove in two and Colin Reardon had two doubles and three RBIs for Poland (5-2). Anthony Paris had a two-run double for Fitch (3-4) while Zach Miller scored twice.

Ursuline 6, East Liverpool 1

STRUTHERS

Sam Donko tossed a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts to get his second win for Ursuline (3-1). Donko also tripled, doubled and singled and drove in three runs.

Girard 6, Brookfield 4

GIRARD

Jim Melfi singled and doubled and Nick Krajcirik added two RBIs for Girard (6-1), which scored two runs in the sixth to pull ahead for good. Corey Matey (2-0) got the win in relief, working Girard out of a bases-loaded, no-out situation in the fifth. For Brookfield (3-1), Jeremy Quinlan had three doubles and two RBIs, Anthony Weilbruda had three hits, R.J. Leon had two hits and Colin Harkulich doubled and drove in two.

Liberty 2, Lakeview 1

LIBERTY

Jared Wiesen pitched a two-hitter with four strikeouts and four walks to lead Liberty (4-2). Wiesen also had two hits and scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single by Dominic Gore. Kevin Arnold had two hits for Lakeview (0-7). Dave Lemasters struck out six and walked one, pitching a five-hitter.

Niles 3, Hubbard 1

HUBBARD

The Red Dragons scored runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to overcome a 1-0 deficit. Tyler Wiery, Pat Barrett, Ryan Ifft and James Tate all had two hits for Niles. One of Ifft’s was a double. Jake Foster threw a complete game. Alex Greathouse had two singles for Hubbard.

Struthers 9, Beaver Local 4

STRUTHERS

Anthony Lariccia and Joe Wilaj each had three hits for the Wildcats (4-1) who posted two four-run innings. Gary Muntean (2-0) pitched into the seventh, allowing just three earned runs.

LaBrae 3, Campbell 0

LEAVITTSBURG

Jake Rutherford struck out 11 Campbell batters and Bobby Kline had two hits for LaBrae (3-3-1). Jeremy Vazquez collected two hits for Campbell, while Anthony Clinkscale had five strikeouts.

Mineral Ridge 8, East Palestine 2

EAST PALESTINE

Winning pitcher Greg Strohmeyer (1-1) and Dan Ferguson each hit RBI triples for the Rams (3-3, 3-1 ITCL Tier One). Ferguson, John Thomas, Ferguson and Nick Ferguson each had two hits while Zack Tasker drove in two runs. Strohmeyer tossed a two-hitter, struck out 10 batters and walked six. For the Bulldogs (0-5, 0-4), Drew Wilson and Billy Bibby singled.

McDonald 6, Leetonia 5

LEETONIA

Cameron Ifft hit a two-run homer as part of a five-run fifth inning to help rally McDonald (5-0, 2-0 ITCL Tier Two). Christian Rusinowski had three hits and Michael Raschilla had two for the Blue Devils. Brandon Dattilio, Nick Altomare, Ian Sevenich and Cody Stokes all had two hits for Leetonia (7-2, 2-2), which led 4-0 after three innings.

Marlington 6, Salem 5

SALEM

Shawn Kirk had a pair of hits and two RBIs to lead Marlington (2-2, 1-2) in a Northeastern Buckeye Conference game. Conner O’Brien added a double and single, and drove in two runs, and Josh Fey hit a double. Brendan Webb led Salem (0-5, 0-3) with two singles.

Louisville 4, West Branch 2

LOUISVILLE

Louisville (5-1, 3-0) scored twice in the fifth inning to snap a 2-2 stalemate. Jacob Clayton had three hits for the Warriors (3-3, 2-1).

Mathews 7, Southington 3

SOUTHINGTON

Dom Ditommaso had three hits and three RBIs to lead Mathews. Brad Watson added two RBIs, and Andy Morgan singled twice and Nate Homan hit a double for the Mustangs.
