Broadway series schedule released

Jazz ensemble in free concert

YOUNGSTOWN

The Dana School of Music’s Jazz Ensemble 1, directed by Kent Engelhardt, will give a free concert at 8 p.m. Monday in the Chestnut Room, inside Kilcawley Center, on the Youngstown State University campus.

The highlight of the concert will be the premiere of three student works produced in David Morgan’s Jazz Arranging class. They include an arrangement of Benny Golson’s “Stablemates” by Max Doyle, and original compositions “Deconstructing Thoughts” by Kevin Snyder and “Shifting Spaces” by Mark Higgins. McBride House closed this month

HUBBARD

The Hubbard Historical Society’s McBride House will be closed in April. The next scheduled open house will be May 20 from 2 to 5 p.m. Group tours can be arranged at other times. Call Cecilia Cooper at 330-534-4247.

Israeli celebration

YOUNGSTOWN

Israel Rocks! A Celebration of Israeli Independence Day, will be at 7 p.m. April 26 in the auditorium of the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitors Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens on McKinley Avenue. The event will include Israeli rock songs performed by local band The Flying Falafel. Israeli emissary Or Bass will discuss each song’s connection to Israel. Israeli wine and food will be featured.
