Authorities: Pa. man’s 165 guns violated probation

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Pittsburgh-area man faces trial for allegedly violating his probation by keeping more than 150 guns at his home.

Fifty-four-year-old Charles Rullo says he didn’t know he couldn’t have his guns and claims officials illegally seized them without a search warrant.

Rullo was on probation for possession of a stun gun during a bar fight when a probation officer said Rullo showed him part of his collection at his Penn Hills home last month.

The probation officer said Rullo was told to get rid of the guns but later that day, a supervisor had the probation officer call police and have the 165 guns taken immediately.

Rullo’s attorney put the value of the collection at about $100,000. He maintains the search was illegal.
