Youngstown city health board explanation satisfies HUD
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown City Health District has made corrective actions demanded by the U.S. Housing and Urban Development after an audit.
HUD had questioned $45,000 in expenditures.
The city health department, however, provided evidence the money was properly spent, said Erin Bishop, acting health commissioner, in her report to the board of health Monday.
Bishop said HUD gave verbal approval of the health department’s explanation of the expenditure in a recent conference call, no payback is required, and the department will continue receiving HUD funding.
“We are clear and able to move forward,” she said.
