Easter Seals walk planned for park
BOARDMAN
Easter Seals has scheduled a “Make the First Five Count” walk at 9:30 a.m. April 14 at Boardman Park.
Registration is free and begins at 9 a.m. at the Elton Beard Cabin in the park.
Walkers who raise $25 or more will receive an official walk T-shirt.
Walkers may choose to complete 1, 3 or 5 miles, and pets are welcome.
There also will be pony rides, face painting and crafts. Youngstown State University’s Pete and Penny will be on hand, as will the mascot from Phantom Fireworks.
The walk, led by Lily and Cameron, Easter Seals 2012 Child Representatives, is designed to raise awareness about how the first five years of life are critical to every young child’s development.
All proceeds will benefit Easter Seals and Youngstown Hearing & Speech Center programs for children and adults with disabilities and special needs.
